Simply magnificent. Succulent fish, crispy batter, complemented by seriously tasty chips…
Environment & Recycling
All of our cardboard, plastic containers, tins and oil are recycled and we use recycled paper, cardboard and biodegradable plastic bags. We also use extremely efficient cooking equipment, such as our Frying Range, which runs on only a sixth of the gas in comparison to other Ranges.
The fish shop is located in Market Deeping town centre. Market Deeping is a historic and picturesque market town in south Lincolnshire, on the north bank of the River Welland and connected to the A15.
Linfords offers Cod, Haddock, Plaice and Huss cooked in three different ways: fried in the traditional light golden batter, floured or simply steamed. All of our fish comes from the well managed and sustainable waters of the Barents Sea, north of Norway, The North Atlantic, off the coast of Iceland and the Faroe Islands. Learn more »

A History of 6 Market Place
It is thought that in the middle of the 19th Century Linfords Traditional Fish and Chips shop was the home of Mr J B Mawby who had the New Inn built 1802. His “Counting House” was next door which is now Linfords restaurant. He also owned two houses (one believed to be Balcony House and the other Maltings in Market Deeping) and had meadow land in Market Deeping and Deeping Gate. He was a shareholder in the Market Deeping Coal and Gas Light Company. Mr Mawby’s estates were offered for sale at the New Inn during the summer of 1878.
The next occupier was Mr Franks, a well-known butcher, whose family were to remain for many years and to be followed by several other butchers including the Primadore’s, Carr’s and Freeman’s. Behind the butchers shop were a number of out-buildings including a coach house, slaughter house and stables. Standing in the yard was a large grindstone where the butcher of the day could often be seen sharpening the tools.
